Re: AI Adoption vs. Resistance. Be careful NOT to make the assumption that older workers are resistant to AI. Not all of us are. In fact, I know thru my many years of experience that you should always keep learning new things. My concern of this comment is that it gives recruiters and hiring managers the "excuse" not to hire older engineers like us. We (well me anyway) may not necessarily have the technical prowess of those younger developers. However we (well me anyway. I can't speak for all older workers) have the experience of those working war stories and how to avoid those same mistakes in the future. And in my specific case, I'm still hungry to learn new things since I have recently transition from QA to software development (with an SDET job or two in there as part of the transition. And for my future interviewing hiring managers, if you have those concerns about hiring older workers, talk to us! Ask us those tough questions (but keep it legal please. Do NOT ask me how old I am. 1) That's a rude question to ask and 2) That's illegal and I will tell HR. If you are concern that I will retire in a year or two, take a look at my employment history and ask the "where do you see yourself in 5 years?" question. I might ask you those same questions too to see how you're planning to work your team. (Of course if the answer is "sipping Mai Tai's in Hawaii" then you got your answer too.) :)
