Former Digital Artist who never really posted their work cuz i was a insecured little shit head my take on this topic is really really irritating(for AI artist that is lol): Art can be explained in alot of meanings but if i had to describe art in multiple words those words would be: Culture, History, expression and Entertainment. Alot of artist did Art/drawing as a pass time or Entertainment thing. We pour every second, sweat, tears and literal madness (essentially when we realized w edid something wrong and have to restart lol) into a singular portrait. Art is important to humanity's history. It helps us uncover the past and what happened. Starting from our monkey see monkey do ancestors. To present. Tribes use ART to paint and have a aesthetic while also a Dominating stance in their territory. And we, as artist irl or digital. Find art entertaining and fun because we know that someone spent their time and hardwork to create a majestic masterpiece. (even if it looks shit we compliment it since we know weve been there before) And ill speak on behalf of the digital artist community; We respect each other. Especially those who do art irl since you cant just hotkey to revert what you just did irl. You literally have to reset and start from the beginning. We wont accept the fact that we just wasted our time, hardwork blood, sweat and tears over just some random robot generating it. And AI just ruins the meaning of Art. We draw stuff because its SOMETHING we can ENJOY and if you USE AI your essentially removing anything fun and joyful from drawing. AI is not the future. AI is our new friend and companion that will guide us, help us, and give us answers. They arent the future for chris' sake.
