If we didn't live in such a captialistic society, everyone would want less work for people because then people could have more freedom in choosing what they want to do. The fundamental way our society is built is to exploit the working class to maximize the amount of product generated and consumed. We have an excess of resources and yet the amount of work people need just to survive is increasing instead of decreasing. AI isn't the problem, it's our society that's the problem. Governments need to understand that happiness does not equal GDP, they need to be more willing to take money away from the rich and powerful and give back to the general public, otherwise they are just begging for the working class to revolt.
