Aside from low pay, high stress, non-existent job security, and the job market curse of a PhD, the thought of always being on the hook for an impromptu audit over a single issue from a paper you coauthored 10 years ago, and no one even knows or remembers who's responsible for is insane. 99% of the researchers I know are absolutely dedicated to honesty and terrified of making a mistake, and there is always another scientist working hard to attribute malice to promote their own career. We need to really rethink academia, and maybe AI will be the tool to expose it's weakness and tear down the pretentiousness. Excellent video! I liked and subscribed.
