Automation has been happening for years. Now with computers and AI large languish models that Automation process has increased by leaps. It is always the laborers that can get replaced first. Middle and upper management is next, they just don't understand that yet. You don't need managers for a computer or robot. What you need is repairmen and monitors to repair the robots and monitor them when accidents arise.
Think of the computer repairer who used to be highly trained and technical jobs and then the made the boards so cheap and small that you throw them away and buy a new board or item. No more computer repairmen and those who do it are specialized and work cheaply.
With AI Tech jobs are going by the wastes side.
As a society we need to say where these technologies should be used and shouldn't. If we can't avoid them being used in a industry then those displaced worker are guaranteed and living wage with yearly C.O.L.I. to keep up with the pace of inflation. Companies are making record profits from this country and its governance and to support the people of the USA they should be willing to support its people. It is only fair...
