Its precisely because I understand how AI works that I am not afraid of AI taking over the world. Computers run off a deterministic pre-programmed framework and will forever be incapable of free thought. Only biological organisms have consciousness, and the most likely cause of consciousness is something extra-dimensional to do with quantum physics; not simply matter.
