Thats a false comparative he is putting out here , the arrival of internet or smartphones did not create a job epidemic because that was not the soul purpose of these techs (better global connectivity was), but the core concept of AI is literally to replicate intelligence (much like the industrial revolution), so its arrival could very well serve as an ice age for the global market.
