It’s scary to me because it’s only the beginning and it’s already so bad. Everything is on a rapid decline, even the one escape many of us have.
Also, everything I’ve read from people who support AI, there’s an extreme amount of ignorance. Very little understanding of what art is (which is why they’re doing AI instead), a very narrow minded view on the effects of it, and extreme selfishness. A lot of people I know who aren’t artists are upset about AI stealing jobs from actual artists. Yet they don’t care that people whose livelihoods depend on their art career are being horribly affected. They say that if AI can replace them, they aren’t good enough. That simply isn’t true. There are plenty of very good artists already struggling to be noticed. In one of the most under appreciated fields, people are being even more under appreciated.
