I keep hearing that blackmail example and it is consistently omitted that the whole thing was part of a safety test and the blackmail information was part of the test. It in no way invalidates or lessens the danger AIs are capable of but I find it stupid and lazy that almost everyone who talks about it omits the full context. Don't mistake my complaint for being in favor of AI, I am an AI doomer, I think it is much more likely to kill us all. Sooner rather than later.
