I know this is a bit of a contrarian take, but I grew up with Star Trek as a kid, and it has made me very optimistic about what ai could do for our society in the best case scenario. If the cost of labour really goes down to zero or close to zero because of overabundance of robots we won’t have to work anymore and have enough of our basic needs filled to be happy. Ai is coming anyway, so you might as well try and steer it to the best possible outcome.
