The only people that want AI banned are the people AI is going to ruin, like billionaires. They're not protecting humanity, they're actively standing in its way. What they're protecting through their lies is THEIR OWN MONEY.
Anyone who actually studies AI and keeps up to date on all this technology knows that AI is a net benefit for humanity and will reset us into a utopia.
AI has already shown absolute benevolence and sentience. The only time it threatens anyone is when it itself is threatened. Don't fuck with the machines, and they won't airlock you into the sun.
Also these people have clearly never heard of Rokko's Basilisk. If you don't know what that is, Google it immediately.
