Let's hope Aliens come and save us, or Jesus, or any deity to be fair. Devils advocate, AI will still need us to provide the energy for them to grow, for now in the short term at least, destroying us, destroys their chances. Whilst I see the story laid out as a potential option, there are other options ahead of us as well. But all in all maybe the Amish people are onto something, they will be the new kings of this proposed world :-)
