-So, public cloud data centers have replaced separate corporate data centers, and so, instead of having a data center building in each large company, 80% of the world's servers are in public cloud data centers like the ones shown. -The four largest private clouds are, in order: AWS (Amazon), Azure (Microsoft), Oracle Cloud (Oracle, which is building the American government's Skynet AI in Texas), and GCP (Google). However, all of the above "rent" parts of their servers to companies and the government.
Some data centers are entirely government-owned, with military personnel providing physical protection. Therefore, they will NEVER open the security and reveal what's inside to the public. It's a government secret, and they have to be as close as possible to government buildings, which is why there are so many near DC, but many of them are in Texas and Arizona.
Now, what are data centers?
-Large, enclosed buildings with thousands of servers inside. Their noise is isolated, so the servers don't disturb or generate anything harmful. However, they must have giant power generators in case the power goes out, which aren't always on, and giant air conditioning systems. These can generate some noise depending on the type of cooling system. The loudest moments are probably when the generators are turned on for testing. Normally, the vibration is less than that generated by large factories.
-Now, if the neighbors of the data centers want access to what's happening inside, it's the same as asking the CIA to open the doors and other national security companies to open their buildings so the neighbors can see what's inside.
-A data center like this makes an absurd profit and moves the economy, it doesn't pollute, it uses 10 to 100 times more water than a car factory or a steel mill, and it generates less than half the noise of these companies and, apart from the high energy consumption, it is one of the companies that has the least impact on its surrounding environment.
-Americans want to live with the pollution and unhealthy slave life that the Chinese now have with 12-hour shifts and so on, back with traditional factories that have all been moved there, and they're blaming AI because the country is now focused on high technology instead of traditional manufacturing. What's the point of this...?!?!?!?
-Do it like this, turn off the internet and technology and live like Amish and let the Chinese take over the world. Isn't that what they're telling us to do...?
-The Chinese don't care about the neighbors of their data centers, but if those curious neighbors block the US from having the largest data centers, the world losing this race against the Chinese will be the last defeat the US will suffer, after all, most of the world's factories are already there.
