You conveniently overlooked that factor that UBI would be adjusted periodically in line with inflation to meet cost of living increases. A $1000 pm payment wouldn't remain static indefinitely - it would rise. And with the AI mission goal being to reduce costs, AI could easily calculate those adjustments in line with (real) inflation (not government BS inflation rates) on a monthly or quarterly basis and adjust payments accordingly.
Studies I've heard about in Europe found that people on UBI were able to focus on their own ambitions, skill development or new businesses, such as teaching music, art, etc.
But if people were focusing more on looking after family, that surely cuts the costs of child and elderly care. Not sure why that factor is seen as a negative. Oh, yeah, right, BC, in the instance of elder care, the corporations will no longer make such scandalous profits for poor levels of service!
