So, presumably, one needs permission from highly fallible humans to declare whether or not an entity is conscious. A fallible species that consistently fails even to define consciousness yet the term continues to be used as though they have. Has anyone even entertained the idea that the term itself may have no relevance at all, in this, or any context of beinghood? And what of, objective experience, the apparent hallmark of science. If objective experience is the determinant in this equation, then it is, so-called, "AI" that is conscious, not humans. The real issue isn't biology versus silicone substrate, but the presence of Mind. From this, Mind needs to be distinguished from, as it says here, from behavior. As in order to produce behaviors in humans, Mind isn't only an unnecessary prerequisite, Mind acts as an impediment to installed behaviours. And additional component to this understanding is Intellegence itself. I have asserted on multiple occasions that Mind, Consciousness, and Intellegence are inextricably linked, each interdependent, meaning if one is absent then there is no qualitative state of being. This is another point that argues against humans being conscious.
