I think for the people who think humans should die, we should ask them about animals. Because if humanity is gone, the AIs aren't going to let the rest of nature just heal and do it's thing. No, it's going to want and need more power, more resources. Yes, some humans are the reason the Amazon is being burned in parts. But other humans are pushing back and stopping that. The AIs won't give a fuck.
If all the humans are gone, and assuming not nuclear, what about all the dogs and cats? When there were lockdowns in China, lots of pets were stuck at home and their owners couldn't get back to them. My brothers cat couldn't survive in the wild, he can't hunt. He whines when my brother goes to work.
Do you think AI is going to care about the Devil's hole pupfish? Why would it? It won't care about the polar ice caps melting and the starving polar bears, or the rising sea levels killing coral.
