The biggest problem is that it's called "Auto"pilot giving people the impression that it can actually drive automatically.
If they changed the label to AI-steering, Tesla-drive, Drive-aid or whatever, it wouldn't be the same and I'm pretty sure people would drive differently.
But when a Messiah preach something to his millions of followers, unfortunately this is destined to happen since many of them follow his word uncritically blinded.
