1) Authors Guild, Inc. v. Google, Inc.allows for scanning and transformation via AI so, no it is not illegal. 2) Style cannot be copyrighted. This is also a well known copyright principle. 3) At no time is the exact data of the original work stored in the AI itself--just statistical data. You cannot "recreate an exact copy" as each run though is a unique creation and is not a pixel perfect recreation--just like your brain. Each engine (just like your brain) learns and builds on its previous training that may not include what it saw of yours. 4) If someone tries to pass off their generation as your work, it is fraud and you can sue them. 5) If you are an artist, and have used an artistic photoshop filter (also trained on original works) or have done a collage using other's images (which is also legal as it transforms the work) then you have lost your right to complain about this. As a photographer, writer, and programmer, I understand the fear that AI art generation causes. I support using something like a robots.txt on a website to say no scanning of images for big data should exist. However, you lose your credibility when you put out videos like this that straight up get facts wrong.
