In most cases, nothing is being lost because it would require the artist to work for free. Free = no money exchanged, therefore, nothing of value could be lost. Id argue the artist gains time by not having to work for free.
Besides, ai can’t go beyond what it was fed. It has no creativity. Artists who utilize ai in their workflow will advance much further than those who resist the ai tools.
And that’s just a thing, it is a tool and it is up to the user to be responsible. It is no different from a gun in that regard. Respect the tool and use it appropriately and nothing bad will happen.
They may not be “real artists” but if they take an ai generation and then use PhotoShop to do some stuff, that’s graphic design and that’s art in it’s own way, so really, there can be ai artists, it’s just that ai is one piece of a much bigger puzzle. It needs human touch.
