No need to worry about AI wiping the humanity.
Every economy on the planet requires money to be re-invested for it to flow.
People will get way more unemployable than before. People will stop being paid. People will stop buying goods and services. Goods and services will become luxury and cost more because there is no volume anymore. Cost of AI will be driven up (a lot of reasons) as well.
However. Every day a human being need to:
have shelter
have food
have water
fulfil the procreate instincts
care for children
and a lot of humanity might find themselves needing to quietly cease to exist due to being unable to fulfill the 3 most basic instincts that are typical for biological beings, especially mammals.
Other options left on the table seems to be only a crime/violence...
Is there a pathway where AI leads to a free supply of a quality basic needs (above the bare minimum survival)? Yeah, there is. But in the observable humanity's past it never followed that path and I have no certainty it will in this case.
