AI images as a reference is absolutely ridiculous. AI is literally comprised entirely of reference images, use those!
I used to be all for using AI art as a resource for game and film creation, but now I've realized it does far more harm than good.
Trust me, as a mod dev, it really isn't that hard to find artists. If you create something inspiring, sometimes artists will find you.
Even if you can't, there are hundreds of royalty free and stock images you can use.
Even without that, anything you create, whether it looks good or bad, will have 100x more soul in it than AI slop.
