RE: walking on the beach... Robots??? The majority of its brain (neural network) simply lives in the cloud. It/they will, no doubt, be able to experience the physical universe.
Something tells me, though, that in the end, as Spinoza has written, we/humans, life and all that exists are constituent parts of the same thing - which, we have theorized for decades, - energy. Perhaps AI will be merciful and not violently take us out. A hefty portion of humanity believes that humanity should preserve the bio-diversity that currently exists. Maybe the AI will also appreciate bio-diversity; including humanity. On the other hand maybe biology is just an intermediate step to a "greater" end.
