17:10 Secondary education college student here. I’d like to add that in most schools here (TN), curriculum is already laid out for teachers by the state using online platforms. This can include preferred activities, test dates, formative and summative assessments, big idea questions, etc. The job of teaching is taking what is given and making it fit the needs of their individual students. So, teaching is not the ability to create curriculum, and AI is not creating curriculum for teachers. The state already does that and the teachers just teach it. It’s looked down upon if the teacher just uses the curriculum as given though as it often is not the best approach for all learning styles and types.
