AI models being trained by looking at copyrighted work is no different than a human artist taking inspiration from the same work, after looking at or even trying to re-create your artistic creation themselves. This issue has been going on for longer than just before the birth of artificially intelligent image creation. Your problem with AI is that this toolset opens up creation of art to so many more people than before, people who may not have even been artistically inclined previously. There is now a huge pool of people to compete with in your market and this upsets you, understandably. This issue is no different than countries letting in mass illegal immigrants to work low-paying jobs, taking that work away from citizens of the country. It is also no different than AI eventually taking over other markets such as software programming, game development, music & movie production. AI image generators are simply just the newest paintbrush that has been invented, a new medium to use for the creation of artwork. You either adapt along with it and learn to use this new paintbrush & medium OR fight against it with a counter-culture stance and don't use it at all. I'm sure that there will still be a market for home-grown artistic creations that do not use AI tools the same way the Amish still exist and live the way they want to live.
