I'm sad that this is the reality where human illustrators are getting all the hard job to protect ourselves, as we are the ones who need to step up their games like making art style that is very unique, that is a very tough job to do and takes time to research and experiments while having our incomes disturbed and while we're holding our ground, being crushed by irresponsible thieves who take our art styles to generative AI and make tons of money right away. It just feels so unprotected without any regulation or guard rail here as illustrators and only few people care. lots of them think it's okay, we are the ones that need to adapt. I think we need a middle point where we adapt while the AI usage is being regulated too. Sure it can be used as references, mundane repetitive tasks, but shouldn't be used for tasks with creative or critical thinking.
