I lost a friend to AI psychosis. Thankfully he's still alive, but he is still suffering from it. One night we were talking for hours and hours because I knew something was off. He finally started talking about AI and how he had a gun in his mouth the night before, but the AI stopped him. How? It convinced him to start a church. He is *not* religious. I got so very scared for his safety that I contacted his family, who advised me to call in a welfare check. He lashed out horribly after and blocked me. I didn't know what to do after he told me he'd had a gun only a few hours before. He had started spiraling again when he hung up, which is why I panicked so much and called. 😔 I keep an eye on his business page and know he's okay via that. I miss him. He was a really cool dude before all this happened. Now he's super paranoid and completely out of touch. It's like someone installed a new personality in him.
