As someone from the tech industry i believe AI(machine learning models) will be in future used by all artist to create basic guides for fast concept creations just like how animators evolved from pen to paper to digital 3d animation that auto calculates the in between frames.
Ai is also being used currently in modern graphic cards to give better game performance at half the cost using ai to render in between frames.
Personally I don't think ai will or should replace artist but instead it would reduce the required work load. I believe AI to be an revolution that should be embraced as a tool not as the artist
Also with Microsoft's Quantum computers development an actual sentient ai may be possible.
