my instinct is here is that something which can produce a perfect facsimilie of consciousness doesn't make it conscious. It's like suggesting that an actor is really who they're pretending to be. consciousness is obviously really tricky to define but without a brain and neurons and a fundamental self-awareness I just cannot begin to accept any AI is conscious.
