Alright, they’re testing autonomous trucks under the pretext of addressing a labor shortage in the trucking industry. In reality, there are three times more truck drivers than available jobs, and people are lining up for routes that can pay up to $145,000 USD per year. Yes, autonomous trucks are being pushed to eliminate both high-paying and low-paying trucking jobs. Ultimately, it seems that human beings are now seen as “expensive” and “dangerous” labor by these dehumanized mega-corporations.
Yet, autopilot has existed in airplanes for generations, and we still keep three pilots onboard. These companies are cutting so-called “costly” jobs to dismantle the consumer and recycling-based capitalist system. A robot doesn’t generate waste to recycle, and it doesn’t consume manufactured products. Robots should only be used as backups—when a human falls ill or gets injured and there’s no one available to step in urgently.
So, having a robot waiting in a warehouse is actually a good idea. But using robots to destroy jobs, families, and the current economic system is pure job theft—an inhuman act that centralizes power, just like communism.
