It's not a matter of "which designers" either... This suggests AI will have a ceiling on its capability. It is inevitable, the real question is what will eventually happen to designers. Designers for time will embrace AI as a tool to explore ideas then become curators/directors of AI output because the market will set expectations so high you will be forced to do so. As AI commoditizes design, I think true designers will become like artists, fewer but more talented. It will become more niche, but more appreciated like the way a rug is woven by hand. There may even be brands soon that take a stand for example against AI and try and claim they use grass fed organic designers but this will ultimately fall under the "sure you do" category. Just a few years ago people were laughing at AI, that won't replace me... Those viewpoints have not aged well. AI is here to stay, the question now is how to survive in this rapidly evolving environment.
