The accessibility/cost argument is kind of an anti-intellectualism argument at it's core. They are implying that the only way to be a good artist is to have privilege: an art school education, a comfortable upbringing where you had time to focus on honing art skills. So the AI is the 'hack' for the common, hardworking man who deserves to enjoy beauty too. Only.. art is a skill that must be worked at. You can come at it from many angles, some more expensive than others, yes, but there aren't a lot of shortcuts to getting a satisfying end product. And these guys want there to be a secret. They want the sense of fighting enemies in ivory towers. They want the one weird trick. Because it means they can 'beat' educated alternatives with ease. It's why half those comments are nearly illegible, it's why people are trying to make AI answer questions nobody asked, it's why the AI art looks worse the closer you observe it. Because it iust needs to look good at a glance to convince people who already don't like spending effort to think critically.
