I get confused by the fact that we have mainly trained AI to use language by looking at things in a semi statistical way. So we then hear them using our language and we think they are clever. Even though we have trained them on all our discourse on the internet. I want to see AI do something new, solve a medical problem that needed solving. It can feel like it is mimicry and that is very hard to understand if something is intelligent if it is trained toi guess what we want to hear.
