Someone high up in the AI companies(I don't remember who exactly) said everyone involved with generative AI gets paid or profits, the developers, the owners of the companies, the users, all of them, except the people whose work is used to train the systems. They not only don't get paid, they get replaced by using their work without their permission. He was making the argument that artists need to be paid. Idk what happened with that.
