Ever watched a company that knows it needs to improve its software system? First it will approve the change. Then it will find the funds and start taking bids for the project. This is like the training before a race. Once reaching the starting line of the race, the coding starts, the budget increases, deadlines get missed, years go by, the entire organization has to be changed to accommodate the new way of doing things and the new problems the improvements cause. And this is just software. Might need some new labels and new computers but with automation you need to replace furniture, change shelving, redesign floor plans. It’s faster to grow a company like Amazon from scratch than it is to reorient a company like Walmart to do the same thing. Most of the people watching this video will retire before mops and brooms get replaced in most workplaces by floor cleaning robots, let alone have more humanoid coworkers than human ones. The first electronic shelf label system was put into stores in the early 1990s. This technology has continued its market penetration to include a tiny fraction of big name stores in most big cities by 2024. That tells you something about technology investment and adoption. It takes time. Lots of time.
