As an artist, I completely lost my touch with art in general. My art program and tablet sat unused for over a month, never touched at all. I was struggling constantly, hoping that I'd get that hit of motivation to keep my own art account and patreon afloat. It hurts me to tweet about struggling with art, only sending out random doodles I make because I'm just bored. Ai has killed my spirit too many times. I see so many ai prompters opening commissions which are far more costly than my own and people actually pay for that instead of art from humans who really want to draw and are in need of support. It hurts me all the damn time to know about this. I gave up on wanting to go to college for graphic design because I always think about how artists are losing jobs to ai. It's absolutely heartbreaking. I just wish we could go back to a time with no generative ai, where artists were always heavily needed and credited. But having artists like you openly and publicly reject ai, speak out against it, makes me feel hopeful. I want to support in every way I can, and just get that artistic spark back once more
