As a learning artist myself, I think the only thing AI can brand as art is parody. The parody content AI can make is unironically some funny and entertaining stuff, such as the US presidents having a gaming channel or even GLORB (which was covered here) using AI voices to make it sound like SpongeBob is making drill rap. AI art I feel has a place, but replacing traditional art and claiming to not be an engine that directly spins other unowned creations is not it. AI art has barely any input from the user, it’s more like commissioning an artist to make something for you and then you claim you drew the commission because you paid for it or “gave the prompt” for the artist to use. It’s far different than using a reference since it directly uses the other person’s art content and the engine’s power to create a new thing.
