I disagree with this take. Answer yourself these questions: the image, is it not beautiful? Does it look like a piece of art? Did it became relevant, like 'recognisabley' famous? OK. Now, this was made by an AI, right? Did the AI create it just randomly? Could you recreate it not knowing the inputs? Could you recreate it *knowing* the inputs? So it's absolutely unique. And that guy made it. That guy entered the prompts that created a stunning and recognisable work of art. He made it. He should be able to copyright it. It wouldn't turn AI generated images into a hellhole of copyright. And even if it were - how is that a problem for anyone? But regardless, it wouldn't.
