You don't' use UBI. You use UBS combined with a small UBI.
You provide basic food, housing, medical care, education, and a smaller UBI... say 250. This can be used for luxuries or to pay for gig services.
Also once employment dropped below 50%, you stopped having an economy. Almost all humans stopped buying products. Look what a *small* protest has done to Target in less than a year.
But A.I. does represent the end of the Capitalist system of trading labor, time, and skill for a share of societies resources.
You also ignore legal responsibility. You can have perfect A.I. to do plumbing and electrical work- but at least one *real* human must be in the loop to sign off on the work and to be legally responsible. Legal responsibility and lawsuits will probably slow down A.I. attempts the most.
