"we will build it to be obedient" anyone who has had children knows that your first child is the one you think you will be able to make obedient, until you realise by about 18months they start to form a mind of their own and start making decisions and questioning you. that's when you realise you don't have control. so if AI is given the power to form a mind of its own and start to questions everything around it then we will not have control, it will take on a life of its own. and you'll be able to predict what it will do as much as you can predict what your kids will do as they grow up. but AI will come to conclusions far far quicker than humans ever will and those conclusions will be based on absolute reasoning rather that the fuzzy logic we use.
