I don't have a problem with AI.
AI is just a tool, it needs to be used wisely, a camera can be used for revenge porn as much as a beautiful portrait of your loved ones, a canvas can depict history as well as soulless colours being used for tax write offs by billionaires, there needs to be a distinction on the user of what is the correct way to use that tool.
That being said... I HATE the fact that the learning models were fed our artist's styles without their consent and/or compensations, i understand they need a frame of reference to be able to evolve but i can't see it being moral to just take other peoples work and replicate it like this, i understand that an AI depiction in the style of someone else is as good as a picture of the Monalisa, it's just not the same as seeing the original source in person, however it does not justify the stealing in my eyes, using public property or compensating the artists that helped create those tools properly.
