If AI generated images and text solely used public domain things, as well as stuff the person making the AI has made themselves, I wouldn’t have an issue with it being used as a tool. Even then, you’re likely better off just doing it yourself; AI is just… really bad at making things that humans consider art, and the reason AI bros tout it’s ability is because they don’t have the capacity to see that it just kind of sucks. Granted, if AI becomes sentient (which at the rate of technological progression is worryingly possible (I’d rather not deal with an AM/SKYNET scenario, thanks)), it might be able to produce genuine pieces of art that aren’t it just guessing which word or pixel goes where. As it is, most generative AI is a parasitic organism that hasn’t produced anything of real value at the time of writing.
