Let's say you're a Youtuber or Twitch streamer with a respectable following who has put their name, face, and voice out there for the world to see. And then comes along somebody who trains an AI model to mimic your face and voice and then proceeds to produce a bunch of fake videos of you saying controversial and offensive things that damages your reputation and ability to make an income. Would that not be a problem? Let's go a step further and say they hide behind a VPN and make a bogus call to the police using your stolen voice in order to commit an act of swatting that potentially gets someone killed. Would *that* not be a problem?
Pro-AI folks claim this isn't a copyright issue, but it is. And it goes so much further beyond that as well. The scenarios I just described are a very real possibility. If left unchecked, the good that can be had from AI will be vastly overshadowed by the bad.
