*Go get em I.J.!!*! From what I understand, the biggest reason criminal cops lose their qualified immunity is when they knowingly violate the Constitutional rights of citizens. _Qualified Immunity NEEDS TO END IMMEDIATELY!_. They all need to lose it, completely after allowing police to abuse it to this extent. The only thing blanket QI, by default, has succeeded in, is taking away cop's accountability to the public. Which has lead to rampant corruption & criminal behavior, often in far worse & more dangerous & offensive in proportion to those of actual criminals, not wearing costumes. Public employees MUST always be accountable to the public. Otherwise, the public has just cause to stop paying taxes. Bc Taxpayers being forced to shoulder the excessive burdens resulting from the crimes of criminal cops, who face zero accountability is unacceptable. Hospitals, small businesses, & even doctors are all individually required to pay for private insurance. Police make more than most private sector jobs & get automatic access to pensions & perks like medical insurance. It makes ZERO logical sense for public employees that are _Armed_ to Not be required to carry professional insurance on the individual level. How police depts see fit to arm cops w/o a regular viable psych eval & rigorous Drug testing (esp for illegal drugs like steroids), & after only a laughable, 6mo of training along w/ default protection from lawsuits is something I will never understand or find acceptable. By contrast, to cut hair professionally, it takes years of training & school + hundreds of practice hours to become licensed. & barbers don't regularly kill, harass, extort, threaten, intimidate, kidnap, assault, batter or violate the Constitutional rights of their clients on a daily basis the way police do.
