The Tech in the car that makes it possible for autonomous driving should have seen the pedestrian even in the dark with no (visible) lights on. The pedestrian (having the right of way) has every right to be splattered all over the pavement for her lack of personal responsibility for her own safety, while walking in front of a moving vehicle in the dark. I feel bad for both the driver that will have to live with this and the dead woman that committed vehicular suicide. The self driving car is in it's infancy and this was bound to happen eventually. This tech will improve as airline safety has improved over the years after countless deaths. Soon we will see more thing done by machine like flying, the shipping industry but personal responsibility will still be a factor in the execution of technology and our awareness of it's potential dangers.
