Sure, we will have many services and products – and no one with jobs, and therefore money, to buy those services and products.
All AI has done, then, is erode the entire base layer of the pyramid away, evening the playing field among companies at a much higher and much less sustainable level. Because wouldn't you know... pyramids tend not to float in the air above where their base used to be.
Edit: 12% unemployment! In South Africa we'd sell out collective left kidney for an unemployment rate that low. I'm in the Western Cape, with unemployment at 19.7% — by far the lowest in the country. So if you want to see what AI does to a collapsing job market, keep your eye on us, because we'll be first.😢
