Yeah, that’s what humans do too. The skooshy blob in your head is a supercomputer, taking in data & processing it, and using you to implement the actions & plans it comes up with. It also comes with a built-in feature that enables it to copy, replicate, and improvise based on any & all data that has been processed.
They came up with the algorithms for AI by copying the algorithms of the brain, not the other way around.
