History will soon view author George Orwell as a prophet. His dystopian novel "1984" is becoming reality with technology like these Flock cameras, smart phones and even smart TV's. Given that major cell phone companies handed over subscriber information about cell phone customers in Washington DC on Jan 6 without a warrant, what is to stop the government agencies from acquiring smart TV subscriber information and then downloading a "software update" enabling that TV to become a listening device? Couple this with AI and there will be an East German Stazi like file, in complete detail, for every citizen.
