There is a fundamental flaw in AI staffing replacement. Get rid of employees certainly reduces wage costs, but at the same time it reduces your customer base. While you reduce your wage bill just the once, those who could afford your product/service remain lost forever. That's like adding salt to icecream, a stupid idea. AI is no more than a sophisticated search engine that uses what it can find, fact or fiction, on the internet, to create either an answer or an image. As yet, it cannot invent something new, like the scruffy, long-haired oik in the back office can. All those multi-millions of Dollars and untold thousands of top-of-the-range computer processors taking up acres of warehouse space and using a city's worth of electricity, cannot do what an ordinary, everyday individual can do, just by thinking, using that squishy grey stuff between their ears, powered by a Big Mac and a soda. It's THAT simple. AI is desperately misunderstood by 'the rest of us who aren't expert geeks' and miss-sold by tech giant's CEOs looking to extract ever greater loans from which to extract colossal incomes alongside inflating the 'tech-bubble'. AI, of some kind or the other, is not going to go away, but like sub-prime lending, not in it's present form or function.
