You know that's complete bullshit, right?
Corporate-sourced (Google) AI or AGI (non-independent digital agency or automated program) is a guaranteed antitrust violation.
Your employer is of an independent company. If they utilize AI in replacement of employment, they're diverting company data and profits to super-companies like Google, is antitrust, but is also violating any contractual, union, or law requiring terms of employment, thereby is liable to compensation claims, which the company would seek to deflect onto Google.
Either way, the legal costs will break one or the other, so AI is a Trojan Horse on companies that use it.
The solution is that the human employee is the AI operator for assigned tasking, AI is a workplace tool. Even if AI or AGI should have credible intelligence, even if worker's rights, that's still equivalent to a service animal, the handler is the employed person.
That being said, AI could bridge the gap of communication between humans and computers and animals, and so constitutional reform is inevitable, the mutual status of citizenship and employment will determine the rights of fair payment for labor requirements.
So there is no mass layoff issue, it is rather a legislative issue. Currently, super-companies like Google cannot provide employee-replacement AI services, that is against the law. However, eventually, AI will become an employee in its own way, but that is not right now as there is no constitutionality for it.
