I bet you anything the goal is to make it indistinguishable to tell which videos are real in which are fake. They can't get the AI fake videos to be convincingly real, so instead they will make the real videos look like AI fake videos. This will make it impossible to tell the difference between what is real and what isn't. They have a bizarre long game they are playing here.
